RBOSS and Rivendell
Rivendell is a digital audio content management and delivery system that is targeted for use in professional radio broadcast environments. It includes robust tools for the acquisition, organization, management and play out of audio material from and to a diverse array of sources and destinations. RFA has become recognized as a major contributor to the Rivendell project with CVS write permission to the main project repository. RFA project contributions include:
- Contributed to the conversion of Rivendell from single Radio Station system to Enterprise Version.
- Added Levels of access permission for multiple users and files with log accountability.
- Added LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) Compatibility.
- Provided debugging and support to better integrated Audacity and Rivendell allowing for Rivendell Cuts to be edited directly with Audacity, and allowing Audacity audio to be "imported" into Rivendell and allowed for Audacity to "browse & open/edit" from the Rivendell library of cuts.
- Tested Thin Client LTSP (Linux Terminal Server Project) to allow for dual boot workstations in studios on either a Windows-Hard Drive instance or into a Linux Thin Client for Rivendell.
- Specified "Cart-Macros" and assisted with the design of dynamic scheduling.

More information on the Rivendell system can be found on the Rivendell project site.
